CINCINNATI, July 28, 2003 -- Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq CTAS) today announced that it has been certified as a full participant in the U.S. Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program. C-TPAT is a joint government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen supply chain security and border protection.

"The safety and security of our employee-partners, facilities, and fellow citizens is a top priority to Cintas," said Dan Moak, Cintas Six Sigma Project Manager. "Our C-TPAT certification demonstrates our commitment to that belief," he said. Along with other C-TPAT participants, Cintas is doing its part to help the U.S. Customs Service protect America from potential terrorist attacks.

In order to participate in the program, companies must conduct a comprehensive self-assessment of supply chain security using the C-TPAT security guidelines. In addition, the applicant must submit a supply chain security questionnaire to Customs. Finally, a supply chain security program must be developed, implemented, and communicated properly using C-TPAT guidelines.

The C-TPAT program allows Customs to provide the highest levels of security through close relationships with supply chain owners, including: Importers, carriers, brokers, warehouse operators, and manufacturers.
