ONLINE FIRE EXTINGUISHER SAFETY TRAINING COURSE
Despite fire prevention programs, fires continue to occur in the workplace at the rate of more than 200 per year, taking the lives of 200+ workers and injuring another 5,000. Human life is the greatest toll, along with the suffering caused by fire-related injuries. In addition is the financial cost to U.S. companies, totaling in excess of $2 billion annually.
Experts agree that many workplace fires present a small window of opportunity during which time it may be possible to extinguish the fire before it gets large or out of control. Training employees on how and when to use fire extinguishers on small workplace fires — and when not to try to fight larger workplace fires — may help prevent fire-related workplace injuries and fatalities and, also, help lessen the financial costs of serious fires.
The Cintas, 20-minute Online Fire Extinguisher Safety Training Course defines the various types of fires that are apt to develop and the appropriate type of fire extinguisher to use for counteracting small, early-stage workplace fires. The focus is to train employees in how to use a fire extinguisher and to arm them with an action plan should a fire occur. Employees are taught never to fight a fire that is large or growing out of control, but to immediately leave the building and call for help instead. Topics include:

- What causes and fuels fires?
- Know the types of fire extinguishers
