Course Description

Businesses constantly generate and maintain a vast amount of corporate records — from letters, contracts, memoranda and customer files, to appointment books, desk calendars, expense records, and everything in between. Nearly every employee creates or touches corporate records of some kind and in various formats, be it paper, computer data, email, voice mail, or microfilm. Because an organization’s corporate records are among its most valuable assets, accurate management of records is critical.

One of the greatest concerns for companies is that its employees maintain various types of corporate records, each for the specified period of time as required by law. Failure to do so can cause companies to face fines, penalties or other sanctions, and put them at a serious disadvantage should the issue go to litigation.
