Win a Trip to Atlanta to “Shred Your Debt” and Pledge Financial Responsibility during Financial Literacy Month

Cintas contest winner will receive a two-night stay in Atlanta and $2,000 toward paying off their debt

CINCINNATI – April 04, 2011 — In honor of Financial Literacy Month in April, Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS), the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and Equifax, today announced submissions are open for the inaugural “Shred Your Debt Day” contest. U.S. citizens 18 years and older can enter for a chance to win $2,000 to pay down their debt and a money coaching session from a nationally recognized personal finance expert. To enter, contestants must describe their financial situation, why they deserve to win and submit an image that demonstrates their current or ideal financial state. Contestants are also required to pledge financial responsibility before entering. Entries must be received by 5 p.m. Eastern on April 25, and can be submitted at

“Many Americans are struggling to dig themselves out of credit card debt,” said Gail Cunningham, spokesperson for the NFCC. “We are excited to partner with Cintas to provide one lucky winner with the educational resources and tools to help them begin their journey to becoming debt free.”

A panel of judges from Cintas Document Management, the NFCC and Equifax will select the grand prize winner. In addition to winning $2,000 and a money coaching session from a renowned financial expert, the grand prize includes two roundtrip airfare tickets and a two-night stay in Atlanta. To ensure long-term success, the winner will also receive free additional financial coaching sessions from an NFCC Member Agency and Equifax’s Debt Wise™ product, a do-it-yourself resource that enables users to prioritize their bills and save money on interest to get out of debt faster.

In addition to the contest, Cintas, the NFCC and Equifax will host several “Shred Your Debt” events to enable community members to shred personal documents and protect themselves from identity theft. The kick-off shred event will be held in Wilmington, N.C., on Saturday, April 30. According to an Equifax report, residents of Wilmington have the highest percentage of the average credit card debt in the country. Additional event locations will also be announced on April 30. At each event, participants will have the chance to win $100 toward paying off their debt, financial coaching sessions from the NFCC, the Equifax’s Debt Wise™ product and a copy of the book Debt Fee for Life by Equifax’s David Bach.
