Cintas Corporation's “Adopt A Cintas Family Program Provides Support For Company Employees Affected By Hurricane Katrina

Program Part of Company’s Comprehensive “Operation: Cintas Cares” Initiative

CINCINNATI, OH, September 23, 2005 – Since September 8th, more than 200 employees of Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS) affected by Hurricane Katrina have been receiving direct aid and support through the company’s “Adopt a Cintas Family Program.” The affected employees worked at the company’s uniform rental operations in New Orleans, LA and Gulfport, MS.

The program, part of the company’s permanent “Operation: Cintas Cares” initiative, pairs employees from New Orleans and Gulfport with colleagues from the company’s 350 operations across North America. The “Adopt A Cintas Family Program” gives 30,000 Cintas employees the opportunity to work together at the local level to provide direct aid to fellow employees. While care packages, photos and letters are the backbone of the program, donations have included apartment rent payments, furniture, clothing, school supplies, personal hygiene products and even a used automobile. Donations will continue until all adopted Cintas families are back on their feet.

“The outpouring of company support has exceeded everyone’s expectations down here,” said Jerry Matherne, General Manager of Cintas’ New Orleans plant. Matherne, whose Cintas facility had minor damage, suffered extensive flood damage at home, as did many of his employees. “There will be a lot of repairs to make, but at least I still have a home,” he said. “I’m one of the lucky ones.” Matherne and his family praise the “Adopt A Cintas Family Program” for meeting the immediate needs and providing sustaining support and encouragement for his employees.

Operation: Cintas Cares also consists of employee-matched donations. The financial donations supplement the company’s relief efforts, which include a toll-free hurricane hotline for displaced employees, continuation of pay and benefits, and opportunities for employment at any Cintas facility where an employee has been relocated.

In addition, a special task force of Cintas management has been designated by Scott Farmer, President and CEO of Cintas, to assess ongoing financial relief and other assistance from the company.

Cintas is prepared to implement a similar program at its operations along the gulf coast in Texas, should Hurricane Rita impact operations there.
