-Shred events support local children’s hospitals, help protect against identity theft -
CINCINNATI—June 16, 2011 – Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) is partnering with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® and Food Lion to host “Shredding for Miracles” events in multiple cities across the nation. The events will raise money for local children’s hospitals while helping consumers protect themselves from identity theft. All events will take place on Saturday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern, at select Food Lion stores in Atlanta, Nashville, Tenn. and Jacksonville, Fla.
“Shredding for Miracles will provide the local community with a chance to securely dispose of confidential information while helping local children in need,” said Shirley Waters, Vice President of Corporate Development, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “We are excited to partner with Cintas Document Management and Food Lion to provide this service for a positive cause.”
For a $10 donation, participants can bring personal and business documents to have them securely shredded by a certified Cintas employee. All of the donations collected will directly benefit the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to support research and pay for equipment and uncompensated care to help children suffering from common childhood afflictions or bigger challenges like birth defects or cancer. In addition, Food Lion will be selling “Miracle Balloons” during the month of June to raise additional donations for the initiative.
Cintas Document Management will have secure, mobile shredding trucks on-site to safely destroy documents using its SmartShred™ process. From drop-off to destruction, all documents will be constantly monitored and protected. All of the shredded paper will then be recycled into secondary paper products such as paper towels and tissue to help protect natural resources. All attendees will receive a coupon, compliments of GP Harmon Recycling, LLC, for a free paper product such as Brawny or Sparkle paper towels and Angel Soft toilet tissue.
The mobile shredding trucks powered by Cintas will be in Food Lion parking lots at the following locations:
- Jacksonville, FL – Food Lion of Jacksonville: 6765 Dunn Ave. and 418 Staratt Rd. in Jacksonville, FL, benefiting Wolfson Children’s Hospital
- Atlanta, GA - Food Lion of Lawrenceville: 1404 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd, Lawrenceville, GA; Food Lion of Fayetteville: 12160 County Line Rd., Fayetteville, GA, benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
