New Foodservice Apparel Features Fashion-Forward Design and High Tech Function
CINCINNATI, OH, May, 2007 –Cintas will feature award-winning foodservice apparel designs, made with performance-driven materials that offer foodservice employees comfort, durability and stain resistance at the National Restaurant Association Show. Cintas is currently experimenting with several antibacterial fabrics to offer foodservice operators. It is also working with organic fabrics, bamboo fabrics, and cocona fabrics, which effectively manage moisture, absorb odors, and offer UV protection. Cintas’ textile development unit is focused on creating uniforms that are not only comfortable and durable, but also non-toxic, environmentally friendly and safe.
In addition to receiving customer feedback, Cintas also has a dozen designers on staff who constantly look at new ideas in terms of silhouettes and fabric. Cintas recently developed a new uniform for McDonald’s of Canada in connection with its “I’m lovin’ it” re-branding campaign. The challenge was to capture the youthful fashion sense of its employees while creating a uniform that they would love to wear. The designers worked with McDonald’s supply chain and HR and developed a concept that worked with its brand. Bill Cronin, President of National Account Sales for Cintas, says, It was a homerun because it hit the three key areas: the employees liked to wear it, it was comfortable and it worked for them.
