Cintas Receives "Trailblazer Award" For Supplier Diversity
CINCINNATI, December 17, 2008 — Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS) has been recognized by the South Central Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council (SCOMSDC) with the 2008 Trailblazer Award. The award is bestowed on companies that have demonstrated substantial change in their Supplier Development program including the mentoring and development of Minority Business Enterprises.
"Supplier diversity is a business practice that makes sense," said Phillip Holloman, Cintas President and Chief Operating Officer. "Cintas needs the value-added products and services these suppliers provide. A growing number of Cintas’ customers are also recognizing the value of this business practice and requiring their suppliers to embrace the utilization of minority and women-owned suppliers."
Holloman served as the keynote speaker during the SCOMSDC’s 2008 Awards Gala held November 21st, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. The gala recognizes corporations that have exhibited outstanding participation with minority-owned businesses. Cintas received the Trailblazer Award at this event.
"I’m especially appreciative of this award since the recognition comes from the minority business community," said Pamela Coleman, Director of Supplier Diversity for Cintas Corporation. "Cintas has made great strides in our Supplier Diversity process over the past two years and we are committed to continuing the momentum," she added.
Cintas’ economic inclusion efforts include outreach to minority and women-owned firms in the areas of mentorship and training. This includes partnering with the SCOMSDC, which helps provide a direct link between corporations and minority-owned businesses to establish mutually beneficial relationships.
