Retired Federal Judge and Former General Counsel to NAACP Addresses Minority Youth at Cintas Corporation
The Honorable Nathaniel R. Jones Stresses Importance of Mentors at INROADS Workshop Hosted By Cintas
CINCINNATI, OH, March 9, 2005 – Retired Federal Judge Nathaniel R. Jones (U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit) – former General Counsel to the NAACP and current independent diversity advisor to Cintas CEO Scott Farmer – spoke to more than 50 minority students at Cintas about helping others succeed. The presentation was part of an INROADS career training workshop hosted by Cintas that attracted more than 50 minority high school and college students to the company’s Cincinnati headquarters on March 4th and 5th.
Judge Jones, who credits much of his success to the mentoring he received before and after WWII, praised INROADS and Cintas for reaching out to minority students as others had reached out to him. “We have a responsibility to find our bridge and be the best we can be as we cross it,” said Judge Jones. “We also have a responsibility to help others span the bridges we cross.” Through workshops, mentoring and corporate internships, INROADS prepares minority students to live up to the responsibilities addressed by Judge Jones.
