Entries Win 11th Straight Year of Design Awards
CINCINNATI, OH, March 21, 2005 – For the 11th consecutive year, custom-designed uniforms by Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS) received top honors from the industry’s leading trade organization, highlighting the growing integration of design flair and functionality in supporting customers’ business plans.
The National Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) presented three “Image of the Year Awards” and an “Outstanding Achievement Award” to Cintas customers for unique and stylish designs created by Cintas’ National Account Sales Division. This year’s winners included:
- The 1,500-room Gaylord Texan resort and hotel in Grapevine, Texas, owned by Gaylord Entertainment, and at which Cintas manages the resort's employee uniform room on a 24-hour basis;
- The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island in Charleston, South Carolina, a $125 million ultra-luxury oceanfront hotel and spa that opened in the summer of 2004; and
- The historic Mission Inn in Riverside, California - a 130-year-old Southern California landmark and national treasure.
Cintas’ corporate-wide apparel program for Budget Rent A Car also won NAUMD outstanding achievement recognition for designs being implemented coast-to-coast.
“If interaction between employees and customers is an important part of a business, then the right uniform is absolutely critical,” said Bill Cronin, President of Cintas' National Account Sales Division. “The right uniform can reinforce a reputation of quality and service, and the wrong uniform can be a disaster.”
The “Image of the Year” competition is sponsored by the Career Apparel Institute, a division of the National Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors. The program honors suppliers, coordinators and wearers of today’s best career apparel wardrobes.
