Finished your taxes and wondering what to do with all that paper? Looking for an easy way to contribute to Earth Day? Help us reach our goal of recycling 400 tons of confidential documents to promote environmental awareness and save natural resources.
We're making it Earth Month, not just Earth Day. Throughout the month of April, local business and community organizations across the nation will host more than
150 FREE Shred Days, powered by Cintas. These events offer community members and local small businesses a means to discard of their confidential documents in a safe and sustainable manner.
For every ton of paper recycled, participants will help save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4000 kilowatts of energy and 7000 gallons of water.
For each event, local business and community members are encouraged to bring documents that contain personal information such as their name, Social Security number or financial information (see our full list of items to shred) - to have it destroyed on a secure Cintas truck by a certified employee.
The shredded materials will then be recycled into secondary paper products, such as paper towels and toilet tissue, to reduce waste and impact on the environment. Recycling paper saves water, reduces green house gas emissions and uses 25 percent less energy than manufacturing paper from trees.
Come out to help us make Earth Month a success in your own community!
