From Coach to Colleague: A Dad Still Cheering for His Daughter

Jazailis G. has always known her dad was rooting for her. Now, he supports her professionally.

Growing up, he was her youth basketball coach. Today, he’s an UltraClean® Market Manager at the same Cintas location where she is a Management Trainee.

"It really is such a joy and a highlight of my day when I do see him in the office," said Jazailis.

They both work at Cintas' Union, New Jersey, location. Jazailis has been with the company for a year; her father, for 22.

"It's just been a great ride," Richard G. said.

He came to Cintas as a Service Sales Representative when Jazailis was a baby and has spent the last two decades moving up in the company.

"I saw firsthand how he flourished and he was able to jump from promotion to promotion," said Jazailis.

Now, Richard is watching Jazailis find her own success and is offering advice as she carves out her own journey.

“You're going to have your own experiences. Be the leader that you are. Embrace the partners. Embrace the customers, and it's going to be a wonderful journey,” said Richard.

He’s also holding her to the highest professional standards.

“I know I have to not just bring my A-game for my General Manager, but for my dad,” Jazailis said. “If not, it will definitely be brought up at the dinner table.”

As Father’s Day approaches, Jazailis and Richard’s story is a reminder that a father’s support grows over time. From coaching her first games to cheering her on in her career, Richard has been there every step of the way. Now, as they walk the same halls and build their futures together at Cintas, that same encouragement continues to guide Jazailis forward.
