Cintas and FC Cincinnati Team Up for a Life-Saving Goal
Cintas partnered with FC Cincinnati to host a CPR and AED training session for the team’s coaches, players, athletic trainers, and staff to be prepared in case of a sudden cardiac emergency.
At Cintas, giving back to the community is a core part of our culture, and this event was an opportunity to raise awareness and educate one of our partners in the Cincinnati community about the lifesaving skills of CPR and AED use.
“There is nothing more important to a business than the health and safety of its employees and customers,” said Brendan Clunk, Senior Director of Strategy & Innovation for First Aid & Safety. “Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone at any age, and it's important to have the training and confidence to perform CPR or use an AED when it is needed.”
The event included a walkthrough and guidance on assessing the scene during a cardiac arrest, administering CPR, and using an AED. After the instruction, coaches, players, athletic trainers, and staff took to the field, breaking into smaller groups with Cintas trainers to practice the techniques on CPR manikins.
“You never know when a cardiac event could happen, so the more staff we can have trained in CPR, who interact with players, the better,” said Aaron Powell, Director of Athletic Training Services for FC Cincinnati. “It’s critical to have a community partner who can help us do this. Without Cintas, this wouldn’t have happened.”
