Cintas Honors 10 Environmental Services Technicians as 2025 C.A.P.E. Award Winners

The C.A.P.E. Awards celebrate staff who go above and beyond to create cleaner, safer environments in acute and long-term care facilities.

CINCINNATI, OhioCintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS) proudly announced the winners of its 2025 C.A.P.E. Awards – “Cleaning to Advance the Patient Experience.” This national program recognizes Environmental Services (EVS) professionals who are the unsung heroes of healthcare—those working behind the scenes to protect patients, residents, and staff by upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and infection prevention.

Each year, Cintas honors EVS technicians in both acute and long-term care settings who embody dedication, compassion, and excellence in their work. The 2025 winners were chosen from over 1,600 nominations submitted nationwide, each telling the story of an individual who exemplifies service and pride in creating a safe, healing environment.

"Environmental Services professionals are essential to the patient experience; they bring comfort, compassion, and confidence to every room they enter,” said Chad Poeppelmeier, Senior Vice President of Healthcare at Cintas Corporation. “These honorees remind us that safety and healing start long before a patient sees a doctor or nurse. Their commitment to care inspires us all and reflects the very best of the healthcare community.”

From June 17 through September 26, Cintas invited the public to nominate deserving EVS technicians who “don’t wear capes but deserve one.” Submissions highlighted countless acts of integrity, empathy, and excellence from EVS staff who ensure healthcare facilities remain clean, safe, and ready to heal.

Following a comprehensive review, a Cintas panel selected ten winners who each will receive:

  • $2,500 cash prize
  • $2,500 donation made on their behalf to their healthcare institution or a charity of choice
  • Brand-new Rubbermaid cleaning cart
  • Cintas–AHE scholarship package — including one scholarship for their institution’s EVS trainer to attend an AHE Train the Trainer program (T-CHEST, T-CSCT, or T-CNACC), and a scholarship for the winning technician to earn an AHE certification (CHEST, CSCT, or CNACC).

Since its inception, the C.A.P.E. Awards have amplified national appreciation for the critical, often unseen work of EVS teams who make healing possible, one clean room at a time.
