Shared Pride, Shared Purpose: Celebrating a Cintas Mom and Her Family
Cintas’ workforce shows mutual trust and respect by referring to one another simply as “partners.” For Jake and Celia VonHoene, one partner goes by a different name — “Mom.”
That mom, Maria VonHoene, also has another title - Cintas Customer Relations Specialist. Her middle child suggested she join the company when she was ready to go back to work after raising her children. Maria saw not only an opportunity to begin a new chapter in her own career, but also a workplace that shared her family values. She then encouraged her two other children, Jake and Celia, to apply.
“I saw a great place to work and thought this would be the place I'd like to see my kids work,” said Maria.
Now, Jake is a Business Process Specialist and Celia is a Customer Relationship Manager.
Maria has watched their careers from the very beginning. Her family has owned a LaRosa’s Family Pizzeria since 1990. It’s where Jake and Celia worked as teenagers alongside their dad.
“They've always been hard workers, so I've learned that they're even harder workers than I thought they were,” said Maria.
Though there is less pizza baked into their current workdays, the three still find time to connect, often serving as a professional resource to each other, something that gives Maria an immense sense of pride.
“Everyone I meet who knows them always says such wonderful things,” said Maria.
That admiration goes both ways. Jake and Celia have watched their mother grow in her role as well.
“It's like another side of her that we never saw,” said Celia.
As Mother’s Day approaches, the VonHoene family’s story is a reminder that at Cintas, partnership goes beyond job titles. It’s about trust, support and shared pride, whether that employee-partner is a teammate, a son, a daughter or a mom.
